The KS1 children and pre-school enjoyed a lovely teddy bear's picnic in the sunshine. We had a fabulous time listening to a story, going on our own bear hunt and having some rather delicious refreshments and nibbles! The children also enjoyed decorating eggs and some egg rolling in the playground to celebrate all things Easter. This was an extra special welly walk as it was Mrs Tripp's last and we wanted to surprise her! Mrs Martin also popped in and we all had a wonderful day!
As part of our new history topic we have been learning all about how toys have changed over time. Mrs Ley and some of the children have brought in some wonderful old-fashioned toys. Some look very similar to the toys we play with today!
During home learning we met Archie the explorer! He took us on a journey all around the world and we discovered lots of lovely animals and habitats. When we came back to school we created our own new species of animals!
A big welcome back!
It has been so lovely to have all the children back at school for the remainder of the Easter term! We have had a fantastic first week playing with our friends and being together.
We've had a busy start to the Spring term and have enjoyed being outside exploring the frosty weather. We have also enjoyed dressing up as Antarctic explorers and making penguins. We have also been listening to the 'Carnival of the Animals - Aviary' and have created oil pastel tropical birds and our own dance!
Online Learning Spring 2021
Once again thank you so much for your continued support and understanding during these strange and tricky times. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or concerns regarding the home learning - we are here to help! Below are the curriculum letters for Reception and KS1, the suggested timetable, some online resources you may want to use and a 'Class Notebook Guide'.
Please do not worry about attending all the live teaching sessions or completing the activities we set - just do your best! We will need to hear from every child each week so please do upload as much as you can onto Tapestry/the Class Notebook. It is great to hear from the children and see what they are getting up to, even if it is playing in the garden or going for a walk!
All activities for the Reception children will be set via Tapestry and you can upload photos/videos using Tapestry also. For the Year 1 children activities will be set via the Class Notebook (please see the guide document if you are unsure how to get onto this). You can see all the activities set for your child and then upload your photos/videos onto your child's Notebook page. If you find the Class Notebook difficult to navigate you can also use Tapestry to upload your photos/videos as your accounts remain active.
Thank you so much and I hope to see you all again very soon!

Below you will a timetable for the live sessions each week. Try to attend as many sessions possible but we understand that not everyone will be able to make every session. In the case of when a session clashes with a sibling's session then you may need to alternate which sessions they attend. Do get in touch if this is an issue.
All Zoom links have been sent via the school office and you also have a paper copy in your child's pack. If you need any information resent please do get in contact with the school office.
We have really been enjoying PE with Mr Luxa! Here we are running and practising our jumping, well done everyone!
This half-term we have been exploring and making moving pictures, learning about different types of mechanisms: sliders, levers and wheels. KS1 made their own fairytale moving pictures with a mechanism of their choice1
In science we have been learning about seasons and measuring weather. We had a go at measuring how windy the day was using bubbles!
In KS1 we collected natural materials during a welly walk to create our own 'nature self-portraits'. The children used the materials they found very effectively and created some beautiful artwork.
The Reception children had a lovely time creating their own 'season trees' exploring colours and objects they might find during different seasons. Lovely trees everyone!
As the sun was shining, we were able to make some lovely season paintings in teams. The children thought carefully about the different colours they may see for the different seasons and created some lovely paintings.
We have really enjoyed our Welly Walks this half-term and have been able to do some lovely activities. We have been on nature walks, looked for special items, made some beautiful natural art and worked well in teams to create castles and dens! Well done everyone!
Welcome to Bumble Bee Class!
It is so exciting to welcome returning and new children to the class. We are looking forward to sharing our learning with you on our class page.
